Job shadow narrative
I chose to job shadow a automobile technician Enrique gomez the owner of Gomez Auto. I job shadowed Enrique gomez on the eighth of march at his auto shop located on 614 E. Honolulu. I chose to job shadow Enrique Gomez because I was interested to see how the field of automotive technician might be a suitable workforce for me.
While attending the job shadow I got to learn about him personally and what he does. During this time he ran a smog check on a customers car and explained what license required to conduct the procedure along with pricing. He explained that he was running a family business and that he was following his father’s footsteps and that it really connected to his work.
I learned a lot about the owner that day and what he does and how positive he kept the environment while at the job shadow. I really liked his key points for this job that you have to have patients and that you have to love what you do and be dedicated to your field of work. I also enjoyed the flaws that some might see such as a lot of paperwork to handle and some days might be slower than others
I’m currently still interested in his field of work he even invited me to visit any time I want, if I needed any more information or if I have any questions to ask. My job shadow was very interesting and seemed like something I would like to do in the Future. I would still like to explore other options to get an more depth informational choice in what I would like to work in or study.
